Moira - A Person’s Fate or Destiny

Moira Unit is our step-down unit, where young people may stay for a longer period. This is to work with them to further develop their independence and resilience skills as well as provide them with the best treatment and interventions to help them achieve this.

Although Moira remains locked and secure it is likely there will be fewer restrictions necessary, and young people’s care plans will inform everyone how we can best support them in a least restrictive manner whilst, at the same time, keeping them safe.

Young people will still have a team of professionals working with them and we will continue working with them to achieve your goals – the goals that will help young people move on from Aaban.

When at Moira, It’s likely that young people will be better able to maintain their safety themselves and use their developing positive coping strategies. However, we know that young people may struggle at times which is why we’ll be right here, by their side, 24/7, to support them throughout.
