How we celebrated World Kindness Day in 2021

World Kindness Day may not be the world’s best-known celebration, but in many ways, it’s arguably one of the most important. Its aim is to to encourage togetherness through acts of kindness, highlighting that even small and simple good deeds have incredible power, helping to unite us and work towards a better world.

In today’s increasingly scary times, kindness is more important than ever. So we decided to get involved again this year here at Aaban. So our young people observed World Kindness Day in 2021 by buying flowers and taking them round to the local older adults’ care home. They also engaged in activities for the day, focusing on being kind to themselves and others. Well done for all our residents and staff who took part – we are so proud of you all! 😊

If you’d like, you can still get involved too, no matter who or where you are. The event specifically aims to overcome to barriers of politics, race, religion, gender, and other factors that may threaten to divide us, and it’s observed in almost 30 countries, including the UK, US, Canada, Japan, Italy, Australia, Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates.

The official website of the World Kindness Movement has plenty of ideas on simple and easy ways to be kind. Why not check them out?

Or, if you want to find out more about us here at Aaban, and what we do for our residents, feel free to take a look at our units and our services. If you’ve got any questions, we’re only a phone call away on 01254 786435.
